Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF. Get a clean, editable SVG back: layered paths you can actually work with, not a single opaque blob. No signup, no watermark.
Your image is processed to generate the SVG and then discarded. We don't keep raster uploads. Privacy.
A PNG stores pixels. A logo or icon saved as a PNG looks sharp at one size and muddy at every other. An SVG stores the shapes, so the same file stays crisp at any size, stays tiny on disk, and can be restyled (recoloured, restroked, tinted) without ever regenerating it. For anything that will show up in a browser, app or slide deck at multiple sizes, SVG is the right format.
Drop any PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 5 MB. We downscale it server-side before passing it to the model, so your image size doesn't change the result.
Google's Gemini 3 vision model reads the image, identifies the shapes and colours, and writes them as a small set of clean SVG paths. Not a pixel-by-pixel trace, a human-readable result.
Preview the SVG, download it, and drop it into your project. Or continue in Vectos Studio to refine, regenerate variations, or build out a full icon set.
Classic tracing tools (potrace and friends) output one giant path. Our converter returns multiple named layers, so you can recolour a part, delete a part, or edit a part without touching the rest.
Integer coordinates on a 240×240 grid, no redundant path commands, no microscopic sub-paths. The SVG reads like something a designer wrote, not something a machine spat out.
A tracer turns a red circle into "a red path that happens to be round." The AI understands it's a red circle and emits an SVG <circle>. Same for rectangles, logos, simple icons.
The output is Vectos-native: open it in Studio and you get boolean ops, AI edits ("make the background blue"), and variation generation for free.
PNG, JPG, WebP and GIF, up to 5 MB. The image is downscaled to 1024px on its longest edge before being sent to the model, so larger uploads don't give you a better result, they just take longer to transfer.
One free conversion per IP per UTC day. This keeps the tool available for real users and the Gemini bill sane. Sign up to remove the limit.
Yes. No watermark, no attribution required. You own what you convert. Don't upload images you don't have the rights to, see Terms.
Image Trace is algorithmic, it looks for colour regions pixel-by-pixel. It's powerful but produces dense, hard-to-edit output and needs you to buy Illustrator. Our converter uses an AI that reasons about what the image is, so the output is simpler and edit-friendly. For complex photo-realistic art, Illustrator still wins. For icons, logos and flat illustrations, try this first.
It'll try, but results vary. This tool is tuned for icons, logos, simple illustrations and flat graphics. For a photo you'd want either a pixel-level tracer or a remove-background-first workflow. Honest take: for "turn this selfie into an SVG," this isn't the tool.
It's sent to the Gemini vision model, a VAF (our SVG intermediate format) is returned, and the raster image buffer is discarded. We don't store uploads. IP addresses are hashed with a server salt for the daily quota, raw IPs are never written to disk. Full details in Privacy.
Most common. Transparency preserved, icons stay crisp at any scale.
Photos, scans, compressed exports. Artefact-resistant output.
Modern web format to crisp, editable vector. Good for Chrome-captured assets.
Vectorize your brand mark once. Works everywhere, recolours in one line.
